Frits Jetten's Further Big Screen Adventures

Tuesday, February 6, 2001 - Love Liza film crew back in Mobile, but there's some bad news...

Scot Broadus, the movie production's Props Master, calls me around 9:00 in the morning. He's still in New Orleans, at the Audubon Zoo. They are reshooting what they filmed there one week earlier. Scot tells me there have been problems on the set. There have been camera malfunctions causing scenes to have to be refilmed. One whole day of shooting will have to be redone at the Reservoir in Municipal Park here in Mobile, among others...

They may even refilm some of the airplane taxiing scene in the Park, he says. "They got some footage with me doing it in New Orleans, but there may not be enough. So if there's any way you can help out..." "Don't worry - I'll be there," I tell him.

I mention that I received an e-mail from Tyler yesterday telling me he was let go. "Yeah - it made me sick to lose Tyler, but I had to cut back." Scot then tells me that one third of the crew has been laid off because of budgetary reasons. Each department had to cut back and let people go...

I tell Scot that this morning I got another e-mail from Tyler and in part it said: "I found more work here already... For the next six weeks I'm building a wine cellar for some swanky Manhattan bar... Go figure! At least I'll make what I deserve..." "Well, good," Scot says.

Scot then mentions that they'll finish filming in New Orleans this afternoon around 5:00 or so. They'll pack up and relocate to Mobile. Filming will resume at Municipal Park in the morning. He tells me that he'll call me after he gets to Mobile to let me know what time crew call is in the morning. "Okay. I'll be at the Park tomorrow," I tell him.

So they're back! And it sounds like another busy day is in store for me...
